Account Recovery

If you forget your password or cannot access your Soppiya account, you can easily recover it using the Forgot Password option. This secure process ensures that only the email owner can regain access.

Location: Accounts Login Page

What Is Account Recovery?

Account Recovery is the secure process of regaining access to your Soppiya account when you have lost your password. It relies on email verification to prove your identity before allowing you to set a new credential.

  • Email Verification - Confirm identity via a secure link sent to your inbox
  • Password Reset - Create a new, strong password to replace the lost one
  • Secure Access - Prevents unauthorized users from hijacking accounts
For Store Owners

If you use a Passkey or Google Login, you may not need to reset your password at all. Try those methods first if you have them set up.

Quick Start Guide

If you need to reset your password immediately, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Login Page — Enter your email and click "Continue"
  2. Click "Forgot password?" — Located on the password entry screen
  3. Check your email — Look for the "Soppiya password reset" email
  4. Click "Reset password" — Follow the link to set a new password
  5. Log in — Use your new credentials to access your dashboard

Best Practices

Account Recovery Best Practices

Password Management

  • Use a password manager — prevent forgotten passwords by storing them securely
  • Update regularly — change your password every 3-6 months
  • Avoid reuse — never use the same password for your email and your Soppiya store

Alternative Access

  • Set up a Passkey — this allows login without typing a password at all
  • Link Google Account — use your Google login as a backup method
  • Add a secondary email — configure a recovery email in your Profile settings

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • ❌ Using a work email you might lose access to
  • ❌ Sharing passwords with staff (create separate accounts instead)
  • ❌ Ignoring "New Login" security alerts in your email

Summary

Account Recovery allows you to regain access to your store securely. By verifying your identity through your registered email, Soppiya ensures that only you can reset your credentials.

Key takeaways:

  • The "Forgot Password" link is the primary way to reset a lost password
  • You must have access to your registered email inbox to complete the process
  • Reset links expire after 10 days for security
  • Check Spam/Junk folders if the email doesn't arrive immediately
  • Setting up a Passkey or Google Login provides a backup way to access your account

If you're prone to forgetting passwords, we highly recommend setting up a Passkey in your profile settings for a smoother, password-free login experience.
