Profile Management

The Profile Management section allows you to manage your account settings, including personal details, preferences, security, and authentication methods. Keeping your profile updated ensures a smoother experience across the Soppiya platform.

What Is Profile Management?

Profile Management is where you customize your personal workspace on Soppiya. Unlike store settings which affect customers, these settings affect your view of the dashboard.

  • Personal Identity - Manage your name and avatar
  • Localization - Set your preferred language and timezone
  • Account Status - Check email verification status at a glance
Personal vs. Store

Changing your Profile Timezone only changes the time you see on orders. It does not change the store's operating timezone or shipping cutoff times.


Quick Start Guide

To personalize your profile:

  1. Go to Profile — Click your avatar in the top right corner
  2. Upload Avatar — Click "Edit" under the picture to add a photo
  3. Set Timezone — Go to Preferences and select your local time
  4. Save — Click "Save" to apply changes immediately

Accessing Profile Settings

After logging into your Soppiya account, you will find the configuration menu in the left sidebar. From here, you can access:

  • Basics – Manage your name, avatar, and view email status.
  • Preferences – Set interface language and local timezone.

Profile Basics

The Basics section appears automatically after login. Here you can update your public profile details.

** Important: Verify Your Email**
If you see a notification at the top of the page stating:
"You may loose account access Verify email now!"
Please click the blue Verify email now! link immediately to secure your account.

Steps to Update Profile Basics

  1. Navigate to Basics in the sidebar.
  2. Update Name: Click into the First Name or Last Name fields to type your changes.
  3. Update Avatar: Locate the profile picture square (e.g., showing your initials like "SH") on the right side.
    • Click the Edit button located directly beneath the avatar to upload a new image.
  4. Click the Save button at the bottom to apply your changes.

Profile Preferences

The Preferences section allows you to customize how the Soppiya dashboard looks and functions for you personally.

Note: These settings do not affect how your customers see your store. They only change your personal dashboard experience.

Available Settings

  • Language: Choose your preferred interface language (e.g., English).
  • Timezone: Set your local timezone (e.g., Asia/Dhaka) to ensure order times and logs appear correctly for your location.

Steps to Update Preferences

  1. Click Preferences in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the Language dropdown to select your language.
  3. Click the Timezone dropdown to search for and select your current location.
  4. Click the Save button to confirm the update.

Example: Remote Team Member

Scenario: A support agent working from London for a Dhaka-based store.

Configuration:

  • Timezone: Europe/London (so she knows when she received the ticket)
  • Language: English
  • Avatar: Professional photo for internal team visibility

Result: The dashboard adapts to her local context without affecting the store's main operations in Bangladesh.


Troubleshooting

My profile picture keeps reverting

Possible causes:

  • Image format is not supported (use JPG/PNG)
  • File is too large (>2MB)
  • Browser cache

Solution:

  1. Try a smaller image file
  2. Clear your browser cache and refresh
  3. Ensure you clicked Save after uploading
I can't find my timezone

Possible causes:

  • Using a different city name

Solution:

  1. Try searching for a major nearby city or capital (e.g., instead of "Uttara", search "Dhaka")
  2. Use the "Continent/City" format (e.g., "Asia/Dhaka")
